This study aimed to observe daily activities cats see correlation between number visitors on cat-to-human interaction at a canteen IPB University. Observation cat’s was conducted by scan sampling method cats’ with humans ad libitum sampling. Our results showed self-care (66.27%) dominated followed negative (20.83%) affiliative (12.9%). Correlation test there significant frequency (p = 0.024). The also shows positive 0.034). Comment on "How cats lap: water uptake by Felis catus".

Reis et al. (Reports, 26 November 2010, p. 1231) reported on the mechanism by which cats lap and gave a theoretical and experimental analysis of their observations. Their explanation for the cat's lapping frequency, however, is based on an incorrect application of the principles of fluid dynamics. The revised analysis given here agrees with their observations and predicts a similar lapping freq...

How cats lap: water uptake by Felis catus.

Animals have developed a range of drinking strategies depending on physiological and environmental constraints. Vertebrates with incomplete cheeks use their tongue to drink; the most common example is the lapping of cats and dogs. We show that the domestic cat (Felis catus) laps by a subtle mechanism based on water adhesion to the dorsal side of the tongue. A combined experimental and theoretic...

Development and evaluation of the Fe-BARQ: A new survey instrument for measuring behavior in domestic cats (Felis s. catus)

A questionnaire instrument for obtaining quantitative behavioral evaluations of pet cats from cat owners was developed and validated. Exploratory Factor Analysis of 2608 questionnaire responses to 149 behavioral questions/items extracted a total of 23 distinct factors that measured most of the more common dimensions of cat behavior. Seventeen of the 23 factors demonstrated adequate-high interna...
